How To Add Java Environment variables Into Windows System

Hey there!! What's up,

So, today in this post I will guide you how to add java bin and java home variables into our windows system environment variables.

So, let's see how it can be done.

Add java environment variables into windows system

Assuming you have installed java JDK on your windows system. If not then check out my previous guide on how to install java JDK on windows operating system.

Now moving forward,

#1. Adding java bin variables into system environment variables

1.  First of all search for environment variables in windows search bar and click on "edit the system environment variables" from search results.

2. Now you will see system property menu on your screen. Click on "Environment variables" at the bottom corner.

3. Under system variables, select "path" and then click on "edit".

4. Now you have to copy the path of bin folder.

For that, go to C:\ drive > program file. (Here you will see java folder inside program file folder).

Go to java folder and inside that folder, you will see bin folder.

For me, bin folder is located in below directory,

This PC > Local  Disk (C:) > Program file > Java > jdk-14.0.1 >

Open that bin folder and copy the path.

For me, path which I have copied is as below,

C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-14.0.1\bin

5. Now click on "New" button under edit environment variable menu and then paste the path you copied there and click on Ok.

That's it, java bin variable is added into your system environment variables.

#2. Adding JAVA_HOME variable into windows system variables

1. In order to add java home variable, you have to copy the path of main java folder.

For me, path which I have copied is as below,

C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-14.0.1

2. Now click on "New" button under system variables in your environment variables menu.

3. Now, new system variable menu will open and ask you to enter variable name & variable value.

Enter details as below,

variable name : JAVA_HOME

variable value : C:\Program Files\Java\ jdk-14.0.1 (*change it with the path you copied earlier*)

Then, click on Ok button.

4. Click Ok, then Ok to save all the settings.

That's it my friend, java home variable is also added into your system variables.

So, this was the complete guide to add java bin & java home variables. I hope you find this guide useful.
